dinar. The dinar is the name of the principal currency unit in several countries near the Mediterranean Sea, with a more widespread historical use. The English word "dinar" is the transliteration of the Arabic ??????????, which was possibly borrowed via the Syriac d??nar?? from the Latin d??n??rius or from the Arabic root d??yn meaning debt.
Eastern Caribbean dollar. The Eastern Caribbean dollar is the currency of all seven full members and one associate member of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS). The successor to the British West Indies dollar, it has existed since 1965, and it is normally abbreviated with the dollar sign $ or, alternatively, EC$ to distinguish it from other dollar-denominated currencies. The EC$ is subdivided into 100 cents. It has been pegged to the United States dollar since 7 July 1976, at the exchange rate of US$1??=??EC$2.70.
Central African CFA franc. The Central African CFA franc is the currency used in six independent states in Central Africa: Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, the Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon. These six countries had a combined population of 55.2??million in 2020, and their total GDP exceeded US$100??billion.
